Black-owned apparel brand celebrating Black history & culture. Designs rooted in legacy, pride & purpose. Wear the Past, Inspire the Future.
Victoria + Irene Apparel Co. is an independent Black-owned apparel brand that designs graphic tees, hoodies, and statement clothing honoring the history, culture, and legacy of African Americans. Each piece in the collection tells the story of a real person, movement, or moment in Black history — worn as both a cultural statement and an act of remembrance.

Wrap Yourself in Black History
Victoria + Irene Apparel Co.'s Sweaters & Cardigans collection is heritage knitwear with a purpose. Each piece is crafted from premium materials to honor the strength, sophistication, and enduring legacy of Black excellence — worn as wearable tributes to the pioneers who shaped American history and culture against every odd.
This is not fast fashion. This is slow fashion with memory.

More than fashion, the Victoria + Irene Black History Collection is a declaration. Each premium graphic tee is built around a specific story — a real person, a real moment, a real legacy. From John Shippen's historic 1896 U.S. Open appearance to the broader arc of Black excellence in America, these shirts bring history off the textbook page and onto your back.
Crafted from eco-friendly materials and printed with detail that honors the significance of each subject, every design in the collection is intentional. These are not generic "Black history" shirts — they are specific, researched tributes to the culture, courage, and contributions that shaped this country.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, shopping for Black History Month, looking for a meaningful gift, or simply wearing your values, Victoria + Irene tees are made for people who believe clothing should carry purpose.
Wear the Past. Inspire the Future.

The Conscience Collection by Victoria + Irene Apparel Co. is civil rights apparel rooted in the legacy of John Lewis — one of America's most courageous voices for justice, equality, and change. Each piece, from bold statement tees to purposeful activist hoodies, is a wearable tribute to his fearless call to make good trouble and never give up the fight for a better world.
The Conscience Collection is a line of civil rights-inspired apparel created by Victoria + Irene Apparel Co. to honor the life and legacy of U.S. Representative John Robert Lewis (1940–2020) — a Freedom Rider, leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and architect of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Known for his call to make "good trouble," Lewis spent more than three decades in Congress championing voting rights, racial justice, and nonviolent resistance. This collection translates that legacy into clothing that educates, activates, and inspires.

The Jean-Michel Basquiat Collection by Victoria + Irene Apparel Co. is where fine art meets streetwear — a deliberate, culturally grounded tribute to one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–1988) rose from the streets of Brooklyn, New York, as the graffiti artist SAMO, to become a defining force in the neo-expressionist movement of the 1980s. His work confronted racism, class, identity, and power — weaving raw imagery, text, symbols, and African American cultural references into paintings that now hang in the world's most prestigious museums. Basquiat was the first Black artist to achieve international superstar status in the contemporary art world, and his influence on music, fashion, and street culture remains unmatched.
This collection by Victoria + Irene Apparel Co. was built to carry that weight.

This stuff is fire!
My tee shirt was created by Victoria Irene Apparel Co. It celebrates the Black Press by highlighting The Chicago Defender. Founded in 1905 by Robert S. Abbott it was once considered the "most important" newspaper of its kind.
